Chapter 50: An Ran's Call!
Three slots! Finally got them!
Qin Yuan felt a surge of joy!
Right now, Qin Yuan had seven available slots!
"Once we get back, I must properly enhance my strength!"
After a brief moment of astonishment!
Qin Yuan successively eliminated the furious Gao Shiwei, the dumbfounded Fan Tianlei, Chen Shanming, and the others!
He Chenguang and Li Eryu finally opened fire as well!
They began a frantic barrage!
That was right!
A barrage from five hundred meters away!
After all!
This current exercise!
Strictly speaking!
Was originally meant to be a test of the actual combat capabilities of the special forces!
The result should have been a complete and utter crushing defeat for the opposing side!
But right now...
Because of Qin Yuan's appearance!
This exercise, which should have been a one-sided steamroll, was completely turned around!
Instead, the Red Force wiped out the entire top brass of the Blue Force!
The smoke dissipated!
Fan Tianlei wore a bitter smile.
Chen Shanming was equally stunned and shocked!
Never in his wildest dreams had he expected that!
At such a crucial moment, the Red Force soldiers would take out their Number One!
Initially, their dissatisfaction with this exercise stemmed merely from the heavily skewed casualty ratio!
Little did they expect that...
In the end, not only did they lose both the Lightning and the Lone Wolf special operation teams!
They even lost Number One and a whole group of senior officers!
This exercise!
They had suffered a total defeat!
A defeat of catastrophic proportions!
Unprecedentedly catastrophic!
"Fan Tianlei! Come to my office after the exercise ends!"
Gao Shiwei's anger was palpable and completely unmasked!
His fierce eyes were piercing, radiating an overbearing pressure!
With a roar, he climbed directly into his vehicle and ordered his guard to head back!
"Yes, Chief!"
Fan Tianlei immediately gave a respectful salute!
There was no help for it!
Fan Tianlei knew!
A fierce tongue-lashing!
Was completely unavoidable!
"Sigh! I've really lifted a rock only to drop it on my own feet! I prepared for this exercise for so long! All to present the Chief with a satisfactory report card! Why on earth did I have to send that freak Qin Yuan to the Iron Fist Regiment? Wouldn't it have been better to keep him right here in Crimson Fang?"
Fan Tianlei let out a helpless sigh!
Deep down inside, however!
He still felt a profound sense of gratification!
The source of that gratification!
Was discovering Qin Yuan, this terrifying and monstrous anomaly!
Right now, however!
Fan Tianlei needed to confirm something!
Who exactly was the one firing from that distant vantage point?
He grabbed a sniper rifle from a nearby soldier!
Peering through the scope!
Fan Tianlei clearly saw Qin Yuan standing atop the chimney, wearing a beaming smile and waving directly at him!
Standing right beside Qin Yuan were He Chenguang and Li Eryu!
"I didn't expect it really to be this kid!"
Having confirmed that the culprit was indeed Qin Yuan!
Fan Tianlei felt that everything was worth it!
"A single man wiped out Lightning and Lone Wolf, and even orchestrated an unprecedented decapitation strike! This Qin Yuan... both in marksmanship and combat awareness, is an absolute top-tier existence!"
"He is practically the undisputed number one special operator in our Southeast Military Region! Calling him the God of War is no exaggeration at all!"
Fan Tianlei felt a deep sense of old-school satisfaction and relief!
"Chief of Staff, should we send some men to properly teach those guys on the chimney a lesson?"
At that moment, Chen Shanming walked over and asked in a deep voice.
There was no helping it!
To be decapitated right in their own lair, especially in front of the Chief!
This was sheer and utter humiliation!
They simply had to give those arrogant and ignorant fellows a profound lesson!
"Teach them a lesson?"
Hearing this, Fan Tianlei quickly shook his head, smiling as he said, "Shanming, my boy! Those few are going to be our most precious treasures in the future! What if you break them during your lesson? Who takes responsibility?"
"Alright, go and handle the aftermath! I'll take care of whatever happened on the exercise grounds!"
With a wave of his hand, Fan Tianlei dismissed Chen Shanming.
This exercise had reached its conclusion!
It was finally and completely over!
The Blue Force had suffered an unmitigated defeat!
The Red Force had pulled off a desperate comeback!
It could unquestionably be called a textbook classic military exercise!
He needed to properly digest and absorb both the gains and losses from this event!
"Facts have proven that future warfare is indeed a war of special forces!"
"The Red Force managed to secure victory not because of their overall military might! It was entirely due to Qin Yuan, that supreme master of special operations! A single man turned the tides of heaven and earth! Therefore... this victory by the Red Force can be entirely attributed to a victory for special forces!"
Fan Tianlei's train of thought became smoother and smoother!
By the end, he had even managed to completely convince himself!
"Hahaha... I suppose this finally gives me a proper account to give the old Chief!"
The gloom on Fan Tianlei's face was instantly swept away!
His entire face beamed with joy!
Right at that moment, however—
Fan Tianlei's satellite phone suddenly rang!
"Huh? Who could be calling at a time like this?"
Very few people knew the number for this satellite phone!
"Chief of Staff, it's An Ran! The situation with the target has changed, requesting immediate backup!"
The moment the call connected, An Ran's slightly anxious voice came through from the other end!
"An Ran?"
Hearing An Ran's words, Fan Tianlei gave a start!
As an undercover operative within the Southeast Military Region!
Fan Tianlei actually placed immense importance on An Ran, who was carrying out this deep-cover mission!
After all, versatile female special operators like An Ran were rare indeed!
Especially after last time...
When An Ran had nearly lost her life!
Fan Tianlei had even considered whether he should swap An Ran out!
And replace her with someone else to continue the infiltration!
But after thinking long and hard...
Fatty Liu's operation was already entering its closing stages!
Pulling An Ran out meant there was no suitable candidate available on short notice!
Therefore...
Fan Tianlei had been waiting!
Waiting for the right opportunity!
If possible, to wipe out Fatty Liu with the speed of thunder!
"Violet, what is the situation on your end right now?"
With a steady voice, Fan Tianlei walked quickly to a secluded corner to inquire.
"Chief of Staff, the evidence against Fatty Liu has mostly been gathered! But right now... Fatty Liu has decided to cooperate with the Japanese! They have hooked up with a Japanese faction called the Black Dragon Society!"
"Once they finalize this cooperation, Fatty Liu's strength will increase exponentially, causing even greater damage to our border security and domestic drug trading markets!"
"My recommendation is for the Chief of Staff to launch the net and close in right now!"
With that, An Ran hung up the phone immediately.
A sharp glint flashed in Fan Tianlei's eyes!
"Launch the net and close in right now?"
Fan Tianlei fell into deep contemplation!
He had actually heard of the Japanese Black Dragon Society!
That was a colossal behemoth!
If Fatty Liu were to forge a close cooperative relationship with them!
Fatty Liu's influence along the border would become even more entrenched, potentially forming an overwhelming and transcendent power!
By then, as their strength grew—
And with the assistance of the Japanese, they would likely become even harder to eradicate, inflicting catastrophic harm upon China!
Therefore!
Eliminating Fatty Liu... was a matter of extreme urgency!!
"Since it's come to this! Then let's execute the operation!"
After a brief moment of deep thought, Fan Tianlei instructed Chen Shanming to summon the Lightning and Lone Wolf special operation teams for an emergency meeting!
