Chapter 166: How Could You Possibly Know?

As the students came surging toward him in a swarm, Xie Chengyuan’s face turned deathly pale.
Originally, he had thought that even if KDS failed to show up today, he would only lose a little face in front of those few classmates.
But he had never expected so many students to come. They were clearly forcing him into an impossible position.
Seeing Xie Chengyuan’s expression, a boy with a face covered in acne walked over and turned his gaze toward Yun Fu.
He had just begun sizing her up when he met her cool, indifferent eyes. A chill ran through him, and he immediately looked away.
“Xie Chengyuan, your sister said yesterday that she wanted us to wait for her at the Haiyi Grand Hotel. You didn’t bring us here to apologize, did you?”
“Hahaha, unless I misunderstood her. In that case, we’ve all been excited for nothing.”
Not wanting to listen to those unpleasant, cracking adolescent voices, Yun Fu stepped forward, carrying herself with a hint of bandit-like swagger.
She turned and walked into the hotel.
Xie Chengyuan hurried after her. Seeing them go inside, the boys behind him followed in a noisy swarm.
The clamorous group startled the hotel staff.
“Hello, may I ask… are there really this many of you?”
Yun Fu nodded lazily. “I made a reservation yesterday.”
“Are you Miss Yun?” The attendant’s attitude instantly became exceedingly respectful. “This way, please. Your private room is ready.”
Even the group of half-grown boys behind her received a level of warmth they had never experienced before.
Everyone in J City knew that the Haiyi Grand Hotel was unquestionably the most prestigious hotel around, a place ordinary people would not dare visit without good reason.
They had never imagined that they would be welcomed so enthusiastically today, let alone have the chance to sit in a private room.
This was the first time the boys had ever received such treatment, and from that moment onward, their impression of Xie Chengyuan’s sister began to change.
They all looked toward the girl walking ahead of them, wearing a hat and a mask. Although they could not see her face, given Xie Chengyuan’s looks, there was no way his sister could be unattractive.
A few of them began whispering.
“Do you think it was wrong for us to come? His sister didn’t invite us, after all. Besides, whether KDS comes or not doesn’t really have anything to do with us.”
“Yeah. I wonder what Jin Wei and the others are thinking. His sister hasn’t even asked us to leave.”
“There’s just something familiar about his sister.”

The group chattered all the way to the private room. It was the finest room in the entire hotel, with a view of the river beside it.
“Wow!” the inexperienced boys exclaimed one after another.
Only Jin Wei, the boy with the hoarse, duck-like voice who had fought with Xie Chengyuan, rolled his eyes.
“Tch. So what if she reserved a hotel room? It’s not as if KDS and the others are here.”
One of Xie Chengyuan’s friends could not resist retorting, “You could reserve one yourself. If you don’t want to stay here, you can leave.”
“You!”
Yun Fu ignored their childish bickering. She removed her mask and was just about to pull out a chair when Xie Chengyuan eagerly pulled it out for her.
The boys’ chatter abruptly ceased. They stared blankly at the person before them.
“Yun… Yun Fu?!”
Their eyes were filled with disbelief.
“Oh my God! Yun Fu is Xie Chengyuan’s sister? But isn’t her surname Yun?”
“I had no idea. I only came today to see my male idol. I never imagined I’d meet my female idol too—and she’s my classmate’s sister?”
As they gazed at the woman who seemed to have stepped straight out of a painting, everyone’s attention had long since shifted away from KDS.
A celebrity was actually their classmate’s sister—and she was sitting right in front of them!
Seeing that everyone’s focus had changed, Jin Wei stepped forward and shouted, “So what if she’s Yun Fu? Don’t tell me she can really bring KDS here. Xie Chengyuan, you’re apologizing today, whether you like it or not!”
“You’d better remember what you just said.” Xie Chengyuan was not afraid of him. “You’ll have to apologize to me and to my sister as well!”
The others did not dare say anything and quietly took their seats.
Only the few who had sided with Jin Wei were left in an awkward dilemma, neither sitting nor standing.
Resting her chin in her hand, Yun Fu lazily looked at her phone, paying no attention to what they were saying.
In the group chat, Mo Mo had already sent a flood of messages.
“Yun Fu, our flight was delayed! I’m furious! I’m practically starving to death. You have to wait for us!”
“The captain was so hungry that he fell asleep. I’m the only one still full of energy.”
Since they had just eaten lunch and were not hungry yet, the group gathered in the private room and chatted among themselves.
The minutes ticked by. Before long, it was three o’clock.
Looking at the completely motionless door, Jin Wei immediately grew smug.

“Xie Chengyuan, don’t take this the wrong way, but pretending to be impressive when you clearly aren’t is pretty pathetic. Your sister invited us here, yet she hasn’t ordered us anything to eat, and KDS is nowhere to be seen. Are you two playing us?”
The others also looked at them smugly and mockingly, as though they had already won.
Just then, a voice devoid of emotion rang out.
“I didn’t invite you.”
Silence. Utter silence.
He was still just a child, and upon hearing those words, Jin Wei’s expression became extremely ugly.
He glared at Yun Fu, only to meet her deep, fathomless eyes.
They seemed to conceal a whirlpool—dangerous yet captivating. But as she looked at him now, there was nothing left in them but danger.
Jin Wei was frightened, but he did not dare admit his fear. He continued muttering under his breath, “Keep pretending. I’d like to see how long you can keep it up.”
Xie Chengyuan looked toward his sister. She was holding her phone, apparently messaging someone, and there seemed to be a faint smile at the corners of her lips.
Another half hour passed, yet no one had arrived. Xie Chengyuan could not help feeling anxious.
The boys gradually grew impatient and began making a racket.
“It’s obviously fake. It’s been this long and no one’s come. Let’s leave.”
“Why leave? Isn’t it better to stay and watch them embarrass themselves? They haven’t even left.”
“I think Jin Wei is right. They’re just putting on an act. Don’t forget, his sister’s an actress. She’s best at pretending.”
“Exactly. Xie Chengyuan is usually so low-key. Who would’ve thought he’d be shameless enough to claim he knows KDS? This is hilarious.”
Beside them, Xie Chengyuan and his two friends’ expressions changed.
They all turned toward Yun Fu. A trace of impatience had appeared on her face as well. The Snake game she was playing seemed to sense her mood and was darting across the screen at astonishing speed.
Bang!
Jin Wei slammed his hand on the table, drawing everyone’s attention to him.
“Xie Chengyuan, and you too, sis—there’s no way anyone’s coming. Stop pretending and apologize to me already. When school starts, have Xie Chengyuan run ten laps around the field. Then we’ll pretend this never happened and spare you any further embarrassment!”
He wore an arrogant, self-important expression. Paired with his acne-covered face, it made Yun Fu frown deeply.
