Chapter 178: Your Mouth Is Too Filthy

“Why does every Tom, Dick, and Harry get to audition? We’re looking for actors here, not coaches!”
The voice was sharp and spiteful.
Yun Fu followed the sound and looked over. As expected, it belonged to a very beautiful woman, though there was a hint of arrogance between her brows.
But when it came to beauty, everyone here combined could hardly compare with Yun Fu alone.
In the past, she had possessed only a beautiful face, a beauty without a soul. That was why so many people had called her a mere ornament.
But ever since she had terminated her contract with Star Entertainment, she seemed to have been reborn. Not only was she skilled at practically everything, she also possessed a distinctive air that was nearly impossible to imitate.
That was why she had become famous—and why she had attracted so much envy.
The woman who had spoken was one of those jealous people. Her name was Qi Luo. She came from a wealthy family; her father ran a large chain of supermarkets and was willing to spend generously on her. With decent acting skills as well, she had become a top-tier celebrity not long after entering the industry.
Yet many people still said she relied on her father. Determined to prove herself, she had come to audition for this production precisely because she wanted to demonstrate her own ability.
After speaking, Qi Luo cast a disdainful glance at Yun Fu, and quite a few people beside her joined in.
After all, they knew perfectly well why Yun Fu had been allowed to come.
Wasn’t she merely some kind of coach? Who knew whether she was truly that capable, or whether she had struck some shameful bargain with those five men?
Yun Fu slowly raised her eyes and looked toward the people whispering and snickering in the corner.
The moment Qi Luo and the others met that gaze, they froze like large geese caught by the throat. They stared at her blankly, not daring to say another word.
Her eyes were calm and indifferent, yet somehow Qi Luo thought of her own father. On the surface, he always appeared tranquil, but beneath that calm lurked unknown dangers.
And even her father’s gaze was not as terrifying as Yun Fu’s. There was something murderous in hers.
It was as though she had truly walked through a river of blood.
When Xi Rou’er saw that Qi Luo had fallen silent, she sneered at her inwardly. But to protect her own image, she would never say so aloud—even though she hated Yun Fu so much that she wished she would drop dead on the spot.
At that moment, Xi Rou’er lifted a smile and said to Yun Fu, “Yun Fu, it’s been a long time. Come sit over here.”
If it had been anyone else, they might have gone over. But Yun Fu would never do such a thing.
She strode forward with an imposing, unconcerned gait, as though she had not heard Xi Rou’er at all, and walked straight to the far end of the corridor before sitting down.
“She’s so rude,” several women beside Xi Rou’er whispered. “Sister Rou’er, don’t stoop to her level. I heard she’s always been like this.”
Xi Rou’er’s fingernails nearly broke through her skin, yet she maintained a gentle smile despite the anger on her face.

She said considerately, “It’s all right. Perhaps Yun Fu is under some pressure.”
“Please. What pressure could she possibly have?” Qi Luo spoke again. “With her current level of influence, she doesn’t even have a respectable work to her name. I’m afraid the only way she could have gotten this role was through some filthy transaction.”
The implication was clear: even if Yun Fu obtained the role, it would not be through her own ability.
The entire room fell silent.
Unlike Qi Luo, these women did not have powerful families behind them. They did not dare speak recklessly.
Their eyes drifted toward the end of the corridor. Even without a spotlight or a beautiful backdrop to set her off, Yun Fu sat hidden in the shifting light and shadows, still so beautiful that she seemed otherworldly.
She said nothing and did not look back in their direction. Qi Luo gloated inwardly, convinced that Yun Fu must have a guilty conscience.
“There are always people who think that having a pretty face gives them the right to do whatever they want. They ought to take a good look at themselves. Do they really think they can cling to some powerful patron and transform themselves into a phoenix? Some people are born to certain stations, and that is simply how it is.”
There was some truth to what she said. Among celebrities, only a minority ever married into wealthy families. To the sons of those old-money clans, a brief affair was already more than enough. To truly become one of the privileged was nothing more than a foolish fantasy.
A chorus of chattering voices rose in agreement.
Seeing that Yun Fu remained unmoved, Qi Luo was about to continue when the long-closed door suddenly opened.
A young man wearing a staff badge emerged, carrying a box. “Everyone will draw numbers before entering for the auditions. We’re starting now.”
Yun Fu was seated at the very back. She drew number sixty-seven. There were nearly two hundred people in total.
The girl beside her, who had remained silent until then, glanced timidly at Yun Fu and let out a sigh of relief. “I’m number eighty-four. Fortunately, I’m not right next to you.”
Yun Fu gave her a brief look. The girl’s rabbit-like eyes instantly grew even rounder, and she hurriedly waved her hands.
“I—I’m not saying I dislike you! I’ve watched your livestreams. Your acting is excellent. I’m just afraid I won’t pass the audition.”
“Mm.”
Seeing that Yun Fu was not offended, the girl grew bolder.
“Yun Fu, aren’t you angry that she spoke about you like that?”
“Who?”
“That Qi Luo. She’s always throwing her family’s money and influence around. Whenever she dislikes someone, she says all sorts of nasty things, and no one can do anything about it.”

Yun Fu cast a distant glance in that direction and lowered her eyes with contempt.
“Just a clown.”
Liang Youyou stared at the perfect profile beside her, awed by the powerful presence radiating from Yun Fu. Suddenly, she felt terribly envious.
If only she could become someone like Yun Fu. But she was timid by nature, and no one seemed to like her.
Yun Fu did not notice the sudden dejection of the person beside her. There was still a long wait before her turn, so she rose and headed toward the restroom.
The moment she stepped out of a stall, she ran straight into Qi Luo and the others.
The heavy makeup on Qi Luo’s face made her features look even more cutting, especially beside Yun Fu.
Looking at that flawless, flowerlike face before her, Qi Luo felt the jealousy in her heart grow wildly, like weeds in an abandoned field.
“Hey, Yun Fu. If I were you, I’d withdraw on my own.” She looked at Yun Fu contemptuously, her nose tilted toward the ceiling. “Do you know that even the least accomplished person here has at least one notable work to their name? And what about you? Don’t tell me it’s Heroic Vanguard?”
The followers behind her burst out laughing, as though Yun Fu’s skill at the game were some unforgivable humiliation.
When Yun Fu still did not respond, Qi Luo became even more arrogant.
“What? You think I have a point? Then hurry up and get lost. Don’t wait until the director throws you out. That would be even more embarrassing.”
Yun Fu gave her a cold look. Her eyes held the same indifference one might reserve for a corpse.
She rotated her wrist.
She wanted this woman to remain silent forever, but unfortunately, this was a wretched law-governed society.
“What are you looking at? I’m warning you—ah!”
She never finished the sentence. Yun Fu had already seized the back of her neck with one hand and twisted both her arms behind her back with the other. With a forceful push, she slammed Qi Luo face-first into the sink.
“Ah! Yun Fu! What are you doing? Are you insane? Just wait until I tell my father—ah!”
Yun Fu did not let her finish. She turned on the tap.
Cold water gushed over Qi Luo’s head as she lay sprawled across the sink in utter humiliation.
“Your mouth is filthy!”
Everyone stood frozen.
