Yun Fu cast a cold, sidelong glance at Lian Bingqing, who was rendered speechless, her strikingly aloof face as calm as a frozen lake. The corners of her lips curled into a mocking smile.

"You...!"

No matter how well-mannered Lian Bingqing had been in the past, at this moment her composure slipped. As the eldest young lady of the Lian family, when had she ever been looked down upon like this?

At that moment, the man who had been silently observing from the side finally stepped forward, raising a hand to stop the furious Lian Bingqing.

Lian Hanqi glanced at the butler, who immediately understood and handed over a check.

"This is fifteen million. Once Grandmother is cured, the remaining expenses will be transferred to your bank account," Lian Hanqi said calmly, though a storm brewed beneath his dark eyes.

Yun Fu accepted the check without hesitation. She glanced at the police officers who had just arrived. "So, about them...?"

"Sorry for the fright. On behalf of the Lian family, I apologize to you."

"Brother, you..."

Lian Bingqing was so shocked her jaw nearly dropped. This wretched woman had actually made the head of the Lian family—one of the most distinguished men in the nation—apologize to her?!

Unforgivable!

Lian Hanqi ordered someone to escort the police away, his gaze settling on Yun Fu. "Miss Yun, why not stay for a meal? Consider it a gesture of our family's apology."

"That won't be necessary." Yun Fu curved her lips in a slight smile, quickly scribbling a prescription on a piece of paper. "Brew the medicine exactly as directed, take it three times a day after meals, and within three days, the illness will be cured."

Laying down her pen, Yun Fu turned to leave with a flourish. "I have other matters to attend to. I’ll be going now."

"You..." Lian Bingqing glared at Yun Fu, her eyes brimming with jealousy.

Countless women in the capital would give anything for a chance to spend time with her cousin, yet this woman dared to refuse him?

"Cousin, this woman is far too arrogant," Lian Bingqing fumed, glaring at Yun Fu’s departing figure.

But the inscrutable man watched the retreating figure, lost in thought.

"Cousin?" Lian Bingqing waved her hand in front of Lian Hanqi.

"If you have nothing to say, don’t make noise," he replied, a faint anger coloring his voice as he turned back toward the sickbed to check on his grandmother. "Grandmother, how are you feeling?"

"The tightness in my chest has eased, as if something has been cleared away..." the old lady said slowly. "That girl was quite something. She didn’t stay long, barely spoke a few words, and then left. Next time, you must find a way to keep her here for a proper visit."

"Of course."

Lian Bingqing watched this scene, seething with envy.

Yun Fu, was it? Don’t think that just because you have a few tricks up your sleeve you can challenge me. I’ll prove that my own remedy can cure Grandmother just as well!

---

Yun Fu hailed a cab and hurried back to the apartment the original owner had rented.

As she opened the door and entered, she was greeted by the sight of Ning Lan’s smile freezing on her face.

The original Yun Fu had shared the place with her so-called “plastic flower” friend Ning Lan, even paying all the rent herself. Sadly, she’d been blind to the truth: not only had Ning Lan lived in her apartment, she’d also stolen her man. Disgusting, really.

Now, Ning Lan stood there in shock.

How was Yun Fu back? Didn’t Du Xingyuan say he’d take care of everything?

Her facial muscles stiffened, but the murderous, cold aura emanating from Yun Fu rooted her to the spot; her feet felt as heavy as if they were filled with lead, unable to move an inch.

"You have three minutes. Pack your things and get out."

"Yun Fu, are you insane?!"

Even knowing she’d probably been found out, Ning Lan remained defiant. After years as a third-rate internet celebrity, her lying skills were well-honed.

"You know exactly why. Two and a half minutes left."

Yun Fu raised an eyebrow, gesturing at her phone’s timer. Her amber, phoenix-shaped eyes were as sharp and venomous as blades, stabbing straight at Ning Lan.

"Do you think I care about this dump?!" Ning Lan retorted, feeling guilty. "I was going to move anyway. Didn’t you know? I bought a three-hundred-square-meter apartment in the city center! Aren’t you curious where the money came from?!"

When Yun Fu calmly tossed her suitcase into her room, Ning Lan finally lost her composure. She shrieked and frantically stuffed her most valuable jewelry and trinkets into her luggage.

No doubt all gifts from Du Xingyuan. This place also held plenty of things the original Yun Fu had earned for that scumbag’s company by working herself to the bone—acting in endless productions, appearing on shows, barely sleeping, with no time to hone her craft. No wonder her reputation had plummeted, branded online as a money-grubber and the queen of bad movies.

"My patience ends here. Get out." Yun Fu gripped her arm with one hand and dragged her toward the door.

"Let go! You’re hurting me—stop!"

Ning Lan screamed and struggled, but Yun Fu, trained in grappling, had more than enough strength left to subdue a petite girl barely over five feet tall. With one hand on Ning Lan and the other hauling her chaotic suitcase, she marched out of the apartment with a blank expression.

"If you dare come back, I can’t guarantee you’ll leave with all your limbs intact."

"You lunatic! You can’t treat me this way—I’ll call the police! Get back to your—"

Bang!

Ignoring the fact that Ning Lan was still clutching the doorframe, Yun Fu slammed the door with force.

"Ah—!" Ning Lan’s scream rang out as her fingers turned bruised and swollen, her enchanting eyes reddened with rage. That wretched woman had dared to crush her hand!

Thud! Ning Lan kicked the shut door, but aside from a throbbing foot, she got no response.

---

After throwing the shameless woman out, Yun Fu quickly contacted the landlord via WeChat and gave notice. Opening the wardrobe, she stared at the garish pinks and neon oranges and was at a loss for words.

These clothes could stay.

Yun Fu called a moving company and had them pack up everything belonging to the original owner and dump it all in the trash.

After leaving the apartment, she dialed a number.

"Hello? Jin’an Street Police Department? Yes, I’d like to report someone for soliciting prostitution..."

A rare hint of laughter sparkled in Yun Fu’s eyes as she hung up lazily, then began scrolling through entertainment reporters’ contacts.

"Micro Headlines, is it? I have a tip: third-tier actress Ning Lan and Star Entertainment CEO Du Xingyuan were caught having an affair, location is..."

After making the calls, Yun Fu smiled.

Knowing the original owner’s nemesis, she would surely run to Du Xingyuan’s villa to complain after being wronged.

A man and a woman, alone together...

If they were so eager to have their affair, she’d send them a grand gift.

After dealing with all this, Yun Fu took the check to the bank, deposited it into her account, and headed to a real estate agency in the capital.

An hour later, Yun Fu purchased a ready-made apartment, paid half the down payment, and moved in with her bags.

When the Lian family’s matriarch regained consciousness, the remaining medical fees would cover the final payment.

In her new home, Yun Fu began strength training.

This body was far weaker than her original one.

After an hour, Yun Fu wiped the sweat from her brow and checked her phone. The latest breaking news was already popping up on her home screen.
