Chapter 81: A Scheme to Kill Two Birds with One Stone
“A businessperson.”
[…I suddenly feel so envious. I want this kind of grand treatment too.]
[This friend of Yunfu’s isn’t simple at all. So she just went to borrow money, right?]
[No way, didn’t the director say no borrowing money? Even money from fans can’t be accepted.]
[Let’s see, let’s see what she’s capable of.]
So, they followed behind Yunfu, watching as she took out a card from her pocket. They couldn’t make out what it looked like, only that when the ticket inspector at the entrance saw it, his expression changed dramatically.
Immediately, he became extremely respectful.
“Honored Miss, please come in. Would you like a guide to explain the exhibits?”
Yunfu put the card away casually, slipping it back into her pocket, and nodded, “Thank you.”
“No, no, it’s our honor.”
Behind her, a group of people followed, staring at the other visitors’ gazes, entering in disbelief.
Mu Bai rushed to Yunfu’s side, utterly awed.
“Xiao Fu, what kind of card was that? How did it get us in?”
This was the question on every viewer’s mind.
Perhaps finding the sun too harsh, Yunfu reached back to pull up her hoodie, answering lazily, “Just an ID card.”
“The Caretlin family ID card.” A voice interrupted. Yunfu raised her brows and turned to see Gu Haoyuan.
She hadn’t expected him to know.
Seeing Yunfu didn’t refute him, Gu Haoyuan was sure of his guess. Looking at the beautiful girl before him, his curiosity about her only deepened.
From the first moment, he had found her mysterious; the more time he spent with her, the more extraordinary she seemed.
And now, it was clear she was anything but ordinary.
[What kind of card was that? I don’t understand a thing.]
[Oh no, I feel completely illiterate right now. Can someone knowledgeable explain?]
[Let me explain. Caretlin is an ancient and powerful Italian family. All upper members of the family have a card that grants access to any place in Italy.]
[Whoa! So that’s the card Yunfu just used? She borrowed that card!?!]
[So Yunfu’s friend is from the Caretlin family? How does she know people like that?]
Ouyang Ting saw the two men walking on either side of Yunfu and rushed over. She didn’t dare crowd Gu Haoyuan, but she wasn’t afraid to squeeze Mu Bai aside.
“Yunfu, you have to take me with you from now on. You have no idea, when you’re not around, we can’t understand what anyone’s saying. It’s so hard.”
“Hey! Ouyang Xiaoting! Haven’t you heard of first come, first served?”
“Don’t you know the difference between men and women?”
“It’s the 21st century!”
Yunfu was getting a headache from their bickering, so she shook the two of them off and strode ahead, but the others refused to let her go, trailing closely behind.
Xi Rou’er brought up the rear, her expression growing uglier by the minute.
She had thought Yunfu was useless, but Yunfu kept proving, time and again, how impressive she was.
In just two days, she had won over all the guests and staff.
Clearly, she was supposed to be the dazzling one, the one favored by heaven!
[System, is there any way to draw attention to me instead?]
She hadn’t even realized she’d abandoned her target. All she did now was compete with Yunfu, who remained utterly oblivious.
[There is: the Goddess Aura, 10,000 crystals, but it only lasts for two hours.]
Xi Rou’er bit her lip. She had just spent most of her crystals on a new flawless skin, so she had barely over ten thousand left, and this effect was only temporary.
[Side quest—spend three hours alone in a room with your target, and you’ll earn 30,000 crystals.]
Her eyes lit up. This was her chance to get some time alone with Gu Haoyuan.
Her gaze fell on the four people ahead, and a faint smirk tugged at her lips—she had thought of a way to kill two birds with one stone.
With that card, they managed to check in at three different sites, receiving unprecedented treatment each time. It was, in every sense, a luxurious experience.
Back at the hotel, Mu Bai patted his round stomach with satisfaction. “Now this feels like a real trip. Come on, Sister Fu, let’s play King’s Canyon!”
“Count me in!”
Xi Rou’er watched them gather to play games again, a flash of irritation and malice in her eyes.
She remembered the side quest.
She couldn’t help but sneer inwardly: Yunfu, your good fortune won’t last forever!
Night fell, and everyone went to bed.
Yunfu suddenly opened her eyes. In the moonlight, she saw Xi Rou’er’s face.
She seemed uncomfortable. “Yunfu, I’m not feeling well. Could you come with me to buy some medicine?”
Yunfu frowned, glanced at the sleeping Ouyang Ting, and said nothing, just nodded and got dressed.
Once they were outside, Yunfu asked, “What’s wrong?”
“My…my stomach hurts a little.”
Yunfu glanced at her, nodded, and pressed her lips into a thin line.
The two of them walked along the street searching for a pharmacy when, suddenly, Xi Rou’er clutched her stomach and squatted down. “Yunfu, I can’t walk any further. Could you find the pharmacy for me?”
“Okay.”
“Oh, did you bring your phone? I’d like to use it as a flashlight, I’m a bit scared.”
Yunfu helped her sit down, handed over her phone, and continued forward.
Watching Yunfu’s figure recede, Xi Rou’er slowly stood up, showing no sign of discomfort.
She headed off in another direction.
She didn’t notice that, after she left, another figure appeared.
By morning, three people were missing:
Yunfu, Xi Rou’er, and Gu Haoyuan.
“I was half-asleep last night. I thought Brother Hao had just gone to the bathroom, so I didn’t pay attention. What about you? Did you see where the other two went?”
Ouyang Ting was at a loss; she had no idea.
He Fang rubbed his temples. “We can’t reach Yunfu or Haoyuan on their phones. Xi didn’t bring hers. Hurry, we need to look for them. If something happened, it’d be terrible.”
[Where did the goddess go? I hope nothing’s happened to her.]
[They’re all adults, what could go wrong?]
[Did the three of them leave together or separately? What happened?]
[I’m worried—what if something bad happens in a foreign country?]
Five minutes later, Gu Haoyuan and Xi Rou’er pushed open the door and walked in.
Gu Haoyuan was supporting Xi Rou’er.
Everyone rushed over.
“Where did you go? What happened? Where’s Yunfu?”
Xi Rou’er froze, then asked blankly, “Yunfu… hasn’t come back yet?”
Seeing her expression, He Fang and the others grew serious at once.
“No, she hasn’t come back. Did the two of you go out together last night?”
“Yes.” Xi Rou’er’s eyes reddened, and she looked lost. “I wasn’t feeling well last night. I called Tingting, but she didn’t wake up. So I went to Yunfu and asked her to come to the pharmacy with me.”
