Luo Xingchen opened the daily reward pack he had been claiming every day for ninety-nine thousand nine hundred years.

The usual items appeared:

A drop of True Spirit Jade Elixir, an Extreme Overlord Immortal Pill, a bottle of Devouring God Flame Nectar, and one raffle chance.

The True Spirit Jade Elixir, the Extreme Overlord Immortal Pill, and the Devouring God Flame Nectar were all rare divine treasures for refining the soul and tempering the body, each possessing astonishing effects and brimming with tyrannical, terrifying energy.

Ordinary cultivators without sufficient strength had neither the right to consume nor even come into contact with these items, lest they be overwhelmed and their bodies explode on the spot.

But for Luo Xingchen, they might as well be cabbages.

Nearly a hundred thousand years—every single day, every single year, these rewards appeared.

He was already thoroughly sick of eating and drinking them; as for the Devouring God Flame Nectar, he now used it for his baths whenever he felt like it.

These things no longer made much difference to him.

What Luo Xingchen truly looked forward to was the daily raffle at the end.

Little Bu Liu, the artificial intelligence, this mobile palace where they resided, the gourmet’s tablecloth, and so on—all of these had come from the raffle.

Over the course of nearly a hundred thousand years, only the raffle could give Luo Xingchen a fleeting sense of anticipation.

He used his raffle chance.

The next moment, the system notification sounded.

“Congratulations, Host, you’ve received: Air!”

He’d drawn nothing at all.

Luo Xingchen wasn’t surprised.

After so many raffles, he had won countless bizarre items.

Air, in fact, he’d drawn more than once.

He didn’t lose heart over this empty draw; another day would bring another chance.

After all, if there was one thing he wasn’t short on, it was time.

So sometimes, he would sleep until noon.

Like today.

When he opened his eyes, the sun was already high, and it was nearly lunchtime.

He got up and walked out of his room, heading to the first-floor hall.

There, he found Tie Pipi sitting on the sofa, holding the giant lollipop left over from last night, with a tablet Little Bu Liu had brought her resting on the table in front.

One hand was sliding back and forth across the screen, her whole body swaying left and right in tandem. Beside her, Little Meow watched with great interest, no one quite sure what she was doing.

As he approached, Luo Xingchen saw that the girl was playing a simple game called “Rabbit Escape.”

The gameplay was straightforward: you controlled a rabbit escaping from a hunter, swiping left, right, up, or down to dodge obstacles.

Seeing how much fun she was having, Luo Xingchen asked, “Have you eaten yet?”

Tie Pipi’s body leaped in sync with the rabbit on the screen as she replied, “Not yet! Are you going to cook, Senior? Will it be the same delicious food as yesterday?”

Luo Xingchen promised, “Even tastier than last night!”

“Yay! Senior is the best!” Tie Pipi felt truly blessed.

“But, Senior, please wait a moment. I have to help the bunny get away from the bad guys—almost done!”

Luo Xingchen sat beside her to observe her gameplay. “No rush, take your time. Little Bu Liu, go prepare the meal.”

Before long, the smell of delicious food wafted in, and Tie Pipi successfully cleared the first level.

She jumped up in excitement.

“The bunny is safe! Time to eat!”

The dishes were served—every one of them featured meat.

Unable to resist the rich, tempting aromas, Tie Pipi asked, “Senior, what are these dishes?”

Luo Xingchen patiently introduced each one: “This one is Spicy Dry-Pot Rabbit, this is Braised Rabbit, this is Scallion Stir-Fried Rabbit, this is Lotus Leaf Rabbit, and here’s Five-Spice Rabbit and Cumin Rabbit… all your favorite bunnies!”

The smile on Tie Pipi’s face froze, her voice trembling as she said, “Bunnies are so cute, why eat them?”

Tears involuntarily welled up and rolled down her cheeks as she spoke.

Luo Xingchen asked, “So, are you going to eat or not? If not, I’ll eat it all myself.”

Tie Pipi hurriedly stopped him: “I’ll eat, I’ll eat!”

In no time at all, nearly the entire table of rabbit dishes was devoured by Tie Pipi.

Luo Xingchen looked at her. “Are you full?”

Tie Pipi patted her belly, smiling happily. “I’m full! Thank you for the meal, Senior. Turns out bunnies are cute and delicious—I like them even more now!”

“That’s all it takes to fill you up?”

Luo Xingchen eyed her with suspicion. Today she’d eaten less than a third of what she’d managed yesterday.

“And you didn’t break through after eating?”

“Because I wasn’t especially hungry in the first place,” Tie Pipi explained.

“For a breakthrough, I have to eat until I’m full when I’m really, really hungry.”

Hearing this, Luo Xingchen understood.

That made sense.

If she broke through every time she ate until she was full—three times a day, every day—it would be monstrous.

Even someone like him, a fated protagonist with a system, couldn’t compete with that; it simply wouldn’t make sense.

It was more reasonable, as Tie Pipi described, that only after a period of time, when she became truly ravenous, would eating her fill trigger a breakthrough.

Though still incredible, it was far more plausible than three breakthroughs a day.

After eating and drinking their fill, Luo Xingchen took Tie Pipi and Little Meow out of the palace.

Tie Pipi was about to ask what they would do with such a big house, when she saw Luo Xingchen wave his hand and the building began to shrink at a speed visible to the naked eye.

In the blink of an eye, it became a palm-sized model.

Luo Xingchen tucked the now-miniature mobile palace away.

“Amazing!” Tie Pipi’s eyes sparkled.

“If only I could do that—then wherever I went, I’d always have a place to sleep. Senior, could you teach me?”

“I can’t teach you this,” Luo Xingchen shook his head.

The mobile palace was a system item, not something he had crafted himself. He truly couldn’t teach her.

Seeing Tie Pipi’s brief look of disappointment, Luo Xingchen spoke again.

“But don’t lose heart. While I can’t teach you this, there are other similar tricks—minor ones. As long as you keep cultivating… keep eating, one day you’ll be able to do it too.”

Tie Pipi’s confidence was quickly restored.

“All right, let’s go,” said Luo Xingchen.

The two of them and the cat set off through the forest.

The Supreme Qi-Gathering Sect was within the borders of the Qingyun Empire, and they would have to pass through Longmang County.

After a long walk, as they neared the city, Tie Pipi suddenly stopped, pointing at a watermelon vendor’s stall nearby, her mouth nearly watering.

“Such a big watermelon! It must be delicious!”

Luo Xingchen’s gaze fell on the voluptuous stall owner, who was bending over to slice watermelon for a customer. As she moved, her dress slipped aside, occasionally revealing a flash of snowy white skin. He nodded in agreement, “Big and white—must be delicious!”

Tie Pipi glanced at him, puzzled. “Well, it is big, but… Senior, aren’t watermelons supposed to be red inside?”

“That’s not important,” Luo Xingchen replied. “Do you want to eat some or not?”

“I do, but I don’t have any money. Senior, will you buy one for me?” Tie Pipi looked at him expectantly.

“I don’t have any money either,” Luo Xingchen replied truthfully. As a transcendent cultivator who paid no heed to worldly affairs, it was perfectly normal for him not to carry money.

But then he added, “No worries. We’ll just get it for free!”
