Chapter Twenty-Four: Evidence of the Truth

“Boss, you take a break. The last two are for me and this kid!” With an attack power comparable to Han Cheng Mad Young Master, Qing Qing Zi Jin instantly perked up, speaking excitedly to Huang Yunshuo.

“Alright,” Huang Yunshuo replied, content to stand aside and enjoy the scenery.

Han Cheng Mad Young Master finished off a chick with another swing of his wooden stick, dropping four copper coins and granting each of the trio twenty experience points. The two then worked in perfect harmony, simultaneously attacking another chick and killing it before it could even react. In the blink of an eye, all four little monsters were wiped out.

“You two keep the coins,” Huang Yunshuo said to the pair who were hesitating over whether to pick them up. Both immediately cheered up and split the coins evenly, delighted.

He then rushed up to the little rooster basking in the sun and struck it with his stick.

The little rooster jumped up in fury, pecking Huang Yunshuo on the arm.

The attack didn’t penetrate his defense, but the pain was real. Hissing, Huang Yunshuo clutched his arm and kicked, finishing off the little rooster with its last ten health.

The loot spilled out: twenty copper coins, three tufts of chick down, a novice wooden stick, and a small booklet.

Huang Yunshuo gestured for the other two to pick up whatever they liked, while he picked up the booklet.

So this was the buff Reforged Era gave to players!

Huang Yunshuo suddenly understood. Fifty percent damage reduction meant taking only half the damage. For example, earlier when Han Cheng Mad Young Master was pecked for seventeen points, with this effect, he would only lose eight health. Players’ survivability would soar.

A fifty percent increase in attack speed meant three attacks in the time it used to take for two, making it much easier to kill chicks.

“Which of you wants this?” Huang Yunshuo asked.

Qing Qing Zi Jin shrugged. “These are probably common in this dungeon. Give it to the kid.”

Han Cheng Mad Young Master was thrilled to receive the Evidence of the Truth.

The scenery had not changed, and the monsters were still four chicks, but the little rooster lying not far away had become a big rooster.

“Don’t bother fighting, I’ll wrap this up quickly,” Huang Yunshuo said, charging at a chick and striking it.

The chicks now had twenty health. If this trend continued, the chicks in disaster difficulty might have over fifty health, and there might even be aggro ranges. As for the rooster, it was anyone’s guess.

After all, opening the dungeon at this point would be too easy for players with high levels and good gear. Reforged Era would never leave such loopholes for them.

If a dungeon was so easy to clear, could it even be called a dungeon? It would just be a grind spot.

Huang Yunshuo guessed that if only two people killed a chick, the dropped coins would be just six or seven.

As Huang Yunshuo rushed up to the big rooster, it suddenly sprang to its feet, flapping its wings and charging him, pecking his shoulder.

Without missing a beat, they entered the pressure difficulty. As soon as they stepped in, Huang Yunshuo noticed an increase in the number of chicks—now there were six. Worse still, they stood in pairs, each eyeing the other. It was clear they were linked by chain aggro.

“Chain aggro!” Han Cheng Mad Young Master whispered, realizing that the hundred-thousand credit ticket was truly worth it.

On his own, even with decent teammates, normal difficulty was manageable, but the previous run had already carried the risk of a team wipe.

For this pressure difficulty, even without knowing the chicks’ exact stats, just this chain aggro setup meant it was impossible for players of their level to clear.

“Weakling, are we really going to make it through advanced difficulty?” Han Cheng Mad Young Master asked anxiously. Huang Yunshuo had promised to get them through at least the advanced difficulty.

In truth, even clearing this advanced difficulty would satisfy him. After all, all the loot along the way belonged to him and Qing Qing Zi Jin—huge experience, countless copper coins, well worth the hundred thousand credits.

“You two just lie down and shout ‘awesome.’” Huang Yunshuo replied mildly. What was there to worry about? Disaster difficulty might be tough, but he could definitely handle advanced.

With twenty-four defense, even if the big rooster hit harder, he still had plenty of healing sprays left.

“Thank you, my genius boss!” Qing Qing Zi Jin giggled, cheering him on with a delicate little fist before the fight had even begun.

Huang Yunshuo’s spirits soared, and he charged forward without another word.

Sure enough, the moment he attacked one chick, its partner instantly locked onto him as well, flapping its useless wings to charge.

“His attack is over twenty as well,” Han Cheng Mad Young Master pointed out.

Qing Qing Zi Jin rolled her eyes. “Just focus on picking up coins, little brother.”
