Chu Lin exited the game map, cleaned a few oysters, and placed them in the pot to steam. Just as he brought the freshly steamed oysters out to the table in the courtyard, he heard the sound of a car approaching.

Huang Bin pulled in, driving his BMW 3 Series. This guy had finally decided to show up—though judging by his flashy outfit as he got out, something was off. He only dressed up like this when he’d just landed a date.

“Chu Lin!” Huang Bin stepped forward, eyes wide in surprise at the oysters on the table. “Such big oysters—you have perfect timing for my arrival.”

“Try some!” Chu Lin smiled, placing the bowl on the courtyard table and pulling out a shucking knife.

“Then I won’t be shy.” Grinning, Huang Bin took the knife and pried open an oyster, revealing its plump, succulent flesh. “Oysters this size are rare, you can’t find them at the market!”

Chu Lin also took up a knife, pried open an oyster, and lifted out the thick, juicy meat—so large that he couldn’t finish it in one bite. With its extra attributes of enhanced taste and freshness, the sweet, silky flavor burst in his mouth, far surpassing any ordinary oyster sold outside.

“Damn, this oyster is incredible! Where did you get it?” Huang Bin asked, already reaching for another.

Chu Lin ignored the question and instead asked, “You didn’t answer your phone this afternoon. Catching up with Lin Nian?”

Huang Bin paused, then replied, “She said her family ran into trouble back then and that rich kid could help her. She only blocked me so I wouldn’t worry. And after breaking up with him, she hasn’t dated anyone since.”

Chu Lin was momentarily speechless at the clumsy excuse. Remembering what he knew of the situation, he looked at Huang Bin, “You don’t actually believe that, do you?”

Huang Bin was blunt: “I told her I understood, and I added her back on WeChat and got her number. She was really moved. I spent the whole afternoon comforting her at a hotel!”

“You went straight to the hotel?” Chu Lin was stunned. Things escalated that fast?

Huang Bin explained, “She said she’s facing some trouble lately, so I transferred her 10,000 yuan.”

“What? You actually believed her? The lethal power of a first love is real.”

Huang Bin suddenly sighed, “At the hotel, her skills were unusually good. In fact, frighteningly skilled.”

“Uh…” Chu Lin was taken aback. “And you still trust her?”

“As long as I don’t plan on marrying her, what difference does it make?” Huang Bin replied with a wry smile. “Once I’m done reliving the past, it’ll all be water under the bridge. When the right time comes, I’ll cut things off for good.”

Chu Lin finally understood. “Huang Bin, you really are the master at this.”

He breathed a sigh of relief. Back in high school, Huang Bin had been utterly devoted to Lin Nian, like she was the only girl in the world. He’d worried his friend might fall back into being a lovesick puppy.

There’s a saying: A scoundrel is still human; a lapdog is an animal. The scoundrel eats the chicken and throws the bones to the lapdog. Not only does the lapdog not mind, it thinks the bones taste great, while the chicken feels it’s been disgraced by being eaten by a dog. That’s how many women truly think.

So, is it really so bad to be a scoundrel? At least it’s better than being an animal.

The two finished the oysters and chatted for a while. Suddenly, Chu Lin felt a pleasant sensation at his waist, as if his whole body had become more energetic. The oysters must have started digesting, triggering their special attribute of replenishing vitality. As the saying goes, when your kidneys are strong, your spirit is bright.

Huang Bin exclaimed, “Chu Lin, are these oysters some kind of tonic? My waist feels great!”

He’d had sea cucumber before and immediately made the connection.

Chu Lin nodded. “It’s the real deal—the ultimate booster for men. Wouldn’t you say so?”

“Damn!” Huang Bin swore, then immediately invited, “Chu Lin, after this tonic, let’s go out tonight! I’ve got a date with Lin Nian—high school classmates, time for a little reunion!”

“I’m busy tomorrow,” Chu Lin refused without hesitation. Was this the real reason Huang Bin had come over tonight? Knowing what Lin Nian was like, even if Huang Bin claimed otherwise, Chu Lin had no interest. She clearly wanted to take his friend for a fool.

Besides, he really did have things to do tomorrow—he had to register his car at the Porsche dealership. Li Qian, the beautiful saleswoman, was a very tempting prospect.

Huang Bin quickly added, “I asked Lin Nian to bring her best friend. They’re at a café now—I’ve seen her, and she’s just as attractive as Lin Nian.”

He added, “Don’t forget, never waste a bad girl. Here’s a chance right in front of you—are you really going to let your Panamera miss out on its first conquest?”

“I’ll go shower,” Chu Lin said, heading for the bathroom.

Lin Nian herself wasn’t an option, though her looks were undeniably top-notch—otherwise she wouldn’t have been Huang Bin’s long-standing crush. If her friend was just as pretty, it was worth a try.

Maybe the oysters were to blame, but Huang Bin’s suggestion had him itching to give it a go. All because of those damn oysters.

He took a refreshing shower, the warm water seemingly speeding up his digestion, making that pleasant, energetic sensation at his waist even stronger. He dried off and changed clothes, checking the mirror—still satisfied, no drop in looks despite being busy lately.

Without money, having so many girlfriends meant good looks were his greatest asset. After all, he’d even been approached by wealthy women in bars—though their figures were nothing like the glamorous ones on TV.

Back outside, Huang Bin was already waiting by the Panamera. “Hope tonight’s the night this car gets its first win.”

Chu Lin smiled and got in. Truth be told, this was his first time going out to pick up girls in a luxury car. It’d surely be different from all those times he had to rack his brains and play games.

Once they drove into the city, Huang Bin called Lin Nian. So when they pulled up outside Min City Academy of Art, Lin Nian was already waiting at the café by the entrance with her friend.

Chu Lin skipped right past Lin Nian and looked at the girl beside her. She wore a short black skirt and a little black vest, glasses perched on her nose, giving her a studious, demure appearance—a classic good girl look.

But he knew better: people flock together for a reason. If she was close to Lin Nian, chances were she wasn’t as innocent as she seemed. The carefully constructed exterior spoke of experience. Had Lin Nian not already revealed her true self, this look would have been seriously deceptive.

Still, Huang Bin was right—this girl’s looks and figure matched Lin Nian’s. That was enough; the rest didn’t matter. As long as he kept things casual and didn’t get emotionally involved, he’d never lose.

As soon as the car stopped, Huang Bin got out and greeted Lin Nian, “Not waiting long, I hope?”

“We just got here. This is my best friend, Shen Lu!” Lin Nian beamed as she introduced her, then let Huang Bin usher her into the backseat. He was tactful enough to give up the front passenger seat.

With things settled between him and Lin Nian, it was clear who should sit where. Once Shen Lu got in, Huang Bin introduced them, “Shen Lu, this is my buddy, Chu Lin!”

“Hello!” Shen Lu offered her hand, perfectly composed.

“Hello,” Chu Lin replied, shaking her hand—it was soft, perfect for, well, certain skills.

As he was thinking this, Shen Lu said, “Wearing too much out tonight, it’s a bit warm.” Before she finished speaking, she slipped off her little vest.

Chu Lin smiled—turns out luxury car passenger seats really are hot. The internet was right.

But when he turned to look at Shen Lu without her vest, he silently cursed. Hidden beneath was a stunning, eye-catching figure. The camisole dress beneath, combined with her chest, delivered a shock that was almost overwhelming.

Chu Lin immediately thought of a certain Japanese actress famous for her deceptive looks—slim in clothes, curvaceous out of them, always unexpectedly alluring.

Bonus points—definite bonus points!

It was his first time driving a luxury car to pick up girls, and he was already getting a taste of the perks.

“Damn,” Huang Bin muttered to himself in the backseat. He’d dated plenty, but never had a girl complain about being hot in his BMW 3 Series.

Guess it really just wasn’t high-end enough.
