Chapter 141: The Deadly Threat Amidst the Springtime Bloom

Kong Sha wore a baffled expression as he watched Qin Anyi stroll forward with unhurried ease. Yet the eight Blood Banner sentries on guard completely ignored Qin Anyi. The sensation was utterly eerie. Kong Sha clearly noticed that those guards glanced more than once at where Qin Anyi stood, but their gazes never lingered; instead, they shifted immediately to other spots.
Through observation, Kong Sha quickly discerned something peculiar: whenever a sentry’s eyes briefly swept over Qin Anyi’s figure, Qin Anyi’s body would twitch and tilt strangely. But as soon as their attention moved away, he returned to normal. What amazed Kong Sha most was that Qin Anyi’s pace was leisurely and casual, yet he managed to walk along the very path that attracted the least attention from the eight guards.
How had he gauged that? Kong Sha was certain that if it weren’t for Qin Anyi leading the way, allowing him such a clear view, even years of staking out here wouldn’t have revealed such a route.
Huddled behind a mound, Kong Sha watched with wide eyes as Qin Anyi, just as he said, brazenly walked right past the eight sentries and boldly entered the Blood Banner’s lair.
“Smack.” Kong Sha slapped his own cheek, and the sting confirmed all he was witnessing was real.
“Glorious Dragon Cavalry… what kind of people are they?” Kong Sha muttered in a daze. He had some knowledge of this organization from his father Basong’s introductions, and the Northern Dragon Group had heard whispers of them. But Basong was always reluctant to speak about them in depth, so Kong Sha’s understanding was limited mostly to their name. Now, witnessing Qin Anyi’s actions—completely beyond his comprehension—his curiosity and awe toward the Glorious Dragon Cavalry soared.
Qin Anyi was unaware of the profound impact his actions had on Kong Sha. After successfully entering the village, he found a shadowed corner and took several deep breaths. Though it had taken only about three minutes from behind the mound to the village entrance, the mental and physical strain on Qin Anyi was as great as if he had survived a fierce life-or-death battle.
His walking pace seemed leisurely, but he couldn’t move faster. Every step required meticulous calculation of the eight sentries’ current fields of vision and blind spots, as well as predicting how their gaze would shift with their movements the next moment. He had to respond accordingly to remain hidden in their visual blind spots.
This was an immense challenge, and even with his strong physique and computational prowess, Qin Anyi barely managed. When his tense body finally relaxed, sweat poured from his skin, and the exhaustion far exceeded his expectations.
“Micro-control of the body in a small range is actually…”
“Bang!”
As Qin Anyi moved from one house to another, a door suddenly swung open with a heavy kick from inside. A dark-skinned, burly man emerged, holding a naked woman in his arms. The man carried her straight to the neighboring house and banged loudly on the door, speaking a rapid torrent of Thai that Qin Anyi couldn’t understand a word of.
Soon, another naked woman came out from that house. The burly man pushed the first woman inside and then, holding the second, returned to his own house.
Qin Anyi was stunned. These people were certainly… advanced players. Was this some sort of partner exchange? Or did all the women in the village belong to everyone?
Shaking his head, Qin Anyi pressed on toward his destination. Before long, he reached the village center.
There stood the only two-story building in the village. This had to be the place. Only two sentries stood in front of its door, though they appeared distracted. Like the other single-story houses, the building echoed with various sounds that left the sentries panting and flushed.
Qin Anyi moved like a ghost, reaching the sentries in moments. Without a trace of hesitation, his hands gently but firmly gripped their necks. The two sentries, parched and restless from the noises inside, suddenly felt their throats seized; pain and suffocation overwhelmed them, darkness clouded their vision, and they lost consciousness.
Qin Anyi carefully lowered their limp bodies to the ground and exhaled slowly. He climbed over the courtyard wall and followed the sounds upstairs, encountering no obstacles.
Apart from the two sentries outside, the entire second floor was empty. Qin Anyi paused near the door of the only room emitting sound, listening closely to pinpoint the three people inside.
Then, he burst through the door like a ravenous tiger, launching at the sole man in the room.
The door’s crash was loud but drowned out by the man’s screams. Caught off guard at this critical moment, the man lost control and succumbed to overwhelming pleasure that dulled his reflexes.
Before he could comprehend the intruder’s identity, Qin Anyi’s hand was on his neck. The man’s head tilted lifelessly; he was dead.
The two women who had been with him froze, their moans abruptly silenced, eyes dumbfounded at the sudden collapse of the man they had just been intimate with.
Without wasting a moment, Qin Anyi used both hands to swiftly strangle the women. Though defenseless, if left alive, they might alert other Blood Banner members. Only death guaranteed safety.
Expressionless, Qin Anyi left the three bodies lying flat, then vanished as silently as he had arrived.
